Barbara Natterson-Horowitz

Barbara Natterson-Horowitz is a professor of medicine at UCLA School of Medicine. A cardiologist and evolutionary biologist, her research focuses on the natural world as a source of insights for human health and development. She co-chairs the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine Board on Animal Health Sciences, Conservation, and Research and is immediate past president of the International Society for Evolution, Medicine and Public Health. Her first book, "Zoobiquity," was a finalist for the American Association for the Advancement of Science Prize for Excellence in Science Books, a Smithsonian top book of 2012, and a Discover Magazine best book of the year. "Wildhood" was named book of the year by the Association of Science Education and was a New York Times Book Review editor's pick.
