Alissa Starzak is the vice president and global head of public policy at Cloudflare, a web performance and security company. There, she leads the company’s engagement with world governments, manages sustainability and social responsibility programs, and oversees the trust and safety team. Prior to this, Starzak was general counsel of the Department of the Army. Previously, she was deputy general counsel for legislation of the U.S. Department of Defense and, before that, an assistant general counsel at the CIA’s Office of General Counsel. Earlier in her career, Starzak worked in private practice in Washington, D.C., and clerked for the Honorable E. Grady Jolly in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
