Shayak Sengupta

Shayak Sengupta is a fellow at Observer Research Foundation America, where he leads research on energy, climate and sustainability. In this role, he tracks energy and climate policy between the United States and India. Previously, Sengupta was a visiting researcher at the Centre for Social and Economic Progress (formerly Brookings India) in New Delhi, India. His interests in India’s energy and climate future began when he served as a Fulbright-Nehru scholar at the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur, India, where he studied air pollution control policies at India’s power stations. Sengupta’s writing credits include pieces in publications such as Foreign Policy and Science. He received his doctorate and master’s in engineering and public policy from Carnegie Mellon University.
