Shannon Osaka is a climate reporter at The Washington Post, covering policy, culture and science. She previously was a climate reporter at Grist, analyzing federal climate policy, the energy transition and ideas about climate change. Earlier in her career, Osaka earned a master’s in human geography at University of Oxford and published academic papers on climate change perception and modeling. Her recognition includes Covering Climate Now’s Emerging Journalist of the Year award and twice winning the SEAL award for environmental journalism.
