Nita A. Farahany

Nita A. Farahany is a professor of law and philosophy and director of the Science and Society initiative at Duke University. In 2010, President Obama appointed her to the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues, where she continues to serve. Farahany is an elected member of the American Law Institute, a board member of the International Neuroethics Society, a co-editor in chief and founder of the Journal of Law and the Biosciences, and recipient of the 2013 Paul M. Bator Award, given annually to an outstanding legal academic under 40.
