Linda Villarosa is a contributing writer to The New York Times Magazine, where she covers public health, race, and social justice topics. She also runs the journalism program at The City College of New York in Harlem and teaches media studies. Previously, Villarosa edited the health pages in The New York Times, covered health and other topics for Science Times, and was executive editor of Essence Magazine. A contributor to publications including GlamourHealth, Salon, and The Root, she’s the author or co-author of three books, including Body and Soul: The Black Women’s Guide to Physical Health and Emotional Well-Being, and the recipient of multiple awards.
