Lee Rainie

Director, Internet, Science, and Technology Research, Pew Research Center

Lee Rainie is director of Internet, science, and technology research at Pew Research Center, where he has worked since 1999. Under his leadership, the center has issued more than 500 reports based on surveys on people’s online activities and the Internet’s role in their lives. He also directs the center’s new initiative on the intersection of science and society. Rainie is a co-author of Networked: The New Social Operating System and five books about the future of the Internet. A recipient of the American Sociological Association’s award for excellence in reporting on social issues in 2014, he speaks widely about the changing media ecosystem.
