Katharine Hayhoe

Katharine Hayhoe is an atmospheric scientist whose research focuses on understanding the impacts of climate change on people and the planet. She is chief scientist for The Nature Conservancy and a professor in the Texas Tech University Political Science Department. With expertise in science communication, greenhouse gas emissions, and developing and applying high-resolution climate projections, Hayhoe is also a principal investigator for the U.S. Interior Department’s South-Central Climate Adaptation Science Center and the National Science Foundation’s Global Infrastructure Climate Network. She previously founded ATMOS Research to bridge the gap between scientists and stakeholders and has authored three books, including “Saving Us: A Climate Scientist’s Case for Hope and Healing in a Divided World.” Her recognition includes being named a United Nations Champion of the Earth.
