Joseph F. Coughlin is director of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology AgeLab. He teaches policy and systems innovation and is the author of the online publication Disruptive Demographics. Prior to MIT, Coughlin was with EG&G. He is one of Fast Company’s 100 Most Creative People in Business and The Wall Street Journal’s 12 People Who Are Changing Your Retirement. Coughlin is a Behavioral Sciences Fellow of the Gerontological Society of America and a Fellow of Switzerland’s World Demographics and Ageing Forum. Appointed by President George W. Bush, he served on the 2005 White House Conference on Aging Advisory Committee.
