Vice President for Policy Programs and Director of the Aspen Institute Arts Program

Danielle Baussan is the Vice President for Policy Programs and the Director of the Aspen Institute Arts Program. In her role as Vice President, Danielle ensures the financial stability of a $150 million portfolio of Policy Programs, oversees talent management, and develops organizational plans and policies for a workforce of over 300 employees. Additionally, she directs the Aspen Institute Arts Program, elevating the integration of art and public policy for social progress and prosperity. As Arts Program Director, Danielle oversees the Harman-Eisner Artist in Residence Program, created an “Artivist” fellowship Program partnership, and works to elevate the role of artists and art institutions with an interest in public policy. Prior to joining the Aspen Institute, Danielle spent two decades as a policy wonk serving as the Managing Director for Energy and Environment Policy at the Center for American Progress, positions in the District of Columbia government, on Capitol Hill as Majority Counsel on the Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming in the House of Representatives. Before her career in the public sector, she worked on political campaigns and as an attorney with DLA Piper Rudnick. She is a graduate of Rutgers College and The University of Virginia Law School.
