Sam Altman is the co-founder and CEO of OpenAI, the research and deployment company behind ChatGPT and DALL·E. The firm was started in 2015 as a nonprofit research lab with the mission to build general-purpose artificial intelligence benefitting all humanity. Previously, he was president of the early stage startup accelerator Y Combinator from 2014 to 2019. Altman’s recognition includes being named Time’s 2023 CEO of the year.
