Bill Frist

Former US Senator and Senate Majority Leader (R-TN); Chairman of the Board, The Nature Conservancy

Bill Frist is a former US senator and majority leader of the US Senate. Frist chairs the global board of The Nature Conservancy and is founding partner of Frist Cressey Ventures, an investment firm specializing in tech-enabled health services. A heart and lung transplant surgeon, Frist performed more than 150 heart and lung transplants and founded the Vanderbilt Transplant Center, the world's busiest heart transplant center. His Senate leadership was instrumental in passage of the Medicare Modernization Act that established Medicare Advantage and the historic PEPFAR legislation that has provided life-saving HIV treatment to 25 million people globally. He has served on boards including the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Kaiser Family Foundation, Smithsonian Institution, and others. He chaired the Harvard Medical School Board of Fellows and was a trustee of Princeton University.
