Steve Clemons is Washington editor at large for The Atlantic and National Journal; editor in chief of AtlanticLIVE, National Journal LIVE, and QuartzLIVE; and editor at large for Quartz. He publishes the Washington Note blog and is an MSNBC contributor. Prior to joining Atlantic Media in 2011, he helped launch the New America Foundation, where he was executive vice president, founded its American Strategy Program, and continues to serve as a senior fellow. Clemons was previously executive vice president of the Economic Strategy Institute, senior policy advisor on economic and international affairs to former senator Jeff Bingaman (D-NM), and the first executive director of the Nixon Center.
