Founder, Freestore 15104; Co-Founder, For Good PGH and 412 Food Rescue; Former Second Lady, Pennsylvania

Gisele Barreto Fetterman, former second lady of Pennsylvania, is an advocate, activist, and founder of nonprofit organizations with a focus on nutrition, food equity, and meeting Pennsylvanians’ basic needs. With an empty shipping container and a vacant lot, Fetterman opened the Free Store, distributing household goods, baby items, and bicycles to those in need. She co-founded For Good PGH and also 412 Food Rescue, whose volunteers obtain surplus food from retailers and deliver it to nonprofits serving the hungry. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Fetterman arrived in the United States at the age of seven with her mother and younger brother as undocumented immigrants. She is an advocate for marginalized groups, especially the immigrant community as she herself was once a Dreamer. Passionate about many policy reforms, Fetterman is outspoken on marijuana legalization and is a medical marijuana patient herself.
