Grow with Google is an initiative to help more people -- in more places across America --use technology to start, grow and accelerate their careers and businesses. Through free tools and trainings, Grow with Google helps everyone gain digital skills that can set them up for success, including:
● Preparing Americans for good jobs, particularly in fast-growing fields like IT support.
● Helping people find jobs and training opportunities regardless of location, ambition, or expertise through Jobs on Google Search.
● Partnering with communities and organizations to scale trainings at a local level, including local public libraries which are already acting as job centers, assisting patrons with job applications and interviewing skills.
We’re also proud to support nonprofits that are working hard to ensure more Americans have the skills they need to succeed in an increasingly digital economy. Through Google.org, Google’s philanthropic arm, we have partnered with organizations like Goodwill, the largest workforce development organization in the US. Goodwill is using a $10 million grant from Google.org to enable 1.2 million people to expand their skills and career opportunities. One of these programs, the Goodwill Digital Career Accelerator®, helped Nashville resident Chelsea Rucker go from struggling to find housing to finding a job as a Data Center Technician at Google. Watch Chelsea’s story below, and read the report on the first year of impact and learnings here.
