Arnold Ventures (AV) is a philanthropy that supports research to understand the root causes of America’s most persistent and pressing problems, as well as evidence-based solutions to address them. By focusing on systemic change, AV is working to improve the lives of American families, strengthen their communities, and promote their economic opportunity.

We believe that Americans deserve affordable, high quality health care. Yet the U.S. health care system is broken, plagued by market consolidation, inflated prices, poor care coordination, and anti-competitive practices. These issues drive up costs, limit access, and lower quality.

By working with diverse partners to advance evidence-based solutions that address the high price we pay for health care and the value we get from those investments, we seek to drive lasting change across the health care landscape – striving for a system that is affordable and accessible for families, employers, and taxpayers. Since Laura and John Arnold launched their foundation in 2008, the philanthropy has expanded, and Arnold Ventures’ focus areas include education, criminal justice, health, infrastructure, and public finance, advocating for bipartisan policy reforms that will lead to lasting, scalable change. The Arnolds became signatories of the Giving Pledge in 2010.
