Varun Sivaram is the Douglas Dillon Fellow and acting director of the Program on Energy Security and Climate Change at the Council on Foreign Relations. Previously, he was a strategic advisor to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Reforming the Energy Vision plan, an energy consultant to Fortune 500 companies for McKinsey & Company, and senior advisor for energy and water policy to the mayor of Los Angeles. Sivaram is an adjunct professor at Georgetown University and author of the forthcoming book, Supercharging Solar. Forbes has named him one of its 30 under 30 in law and policy, and Grist has named him one of the top 50 leaders in sustainability.
