Senior Vice President, S. Daniel Abraham Center for Middle East Peace; Chairman, Middle East Programs, The Aspen Institute
Toni Verstandig is chair of the Aspen Institute’s Middle East Programs and senior vice president at the S. Daniel Abraham Center for Middle East Peace. She oversees the secretariat for Partners for New Beginning, a public-private partnership between the United States and local communities in ten countries on issues of economic opportunity, science and technology, education, and exchange. Aspen Middle East programs also include a dialogue with the UAE, a Lebanon program, the North Africa Partnership for Economic Opportunity, and the US-Palestinian Partnership. From 1994 to 2001, Verstandig was deputy assistant secretary of Near Eastern affairs at the US State Department.
