Toby Cosgrove is president and CEO of Cleveland Clinic, heading an $8 billion health care system with offices in Ohio, Florida, Nevada, and Abu Dhabi. He joined the Cleveland Clinic in 1975 and was named chairman of the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery in 1989. Cosgrove has performed over 22,000 operations, holds 30 patents for medical innovations, and authored The Cleveland Clinic Way. The recipient of numerous awards, he is ranked among Modern Healthcare’s 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare and 50 Most Influential Physician Executives. Serving as a US Air Force surgeon in Vietnam in 1967, he earned the Bronze Star and Republic of Vietnam Commendation Medal.
