Terrie Inder is the Mary Ellen Avery Professor of Pediatrics in the Field of Newborn Medicine at Harvard Medical School and the first appointed chair of the Department of Pediatric Newborn Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. A child neurologist and neonatologist, her major discoveries have been in research into the nature and timing of brain injury in preterm and high-risk term born infants. She is recognized as a leader in neonatal neurology, pulmonary biology, and neonatal care, and her research has informed the planning and design of Brigham and Women’s new NICU. Inder received the Doris Duke Clinical Scientist Award, which supports the mentorship of young faculty. (Festival Underwriter Presenter)
