Stuart Weitzman is founder and chairman emeritus of Stuart Weitzman shoe company. He began his career working at his father’s Massachusetts shoe factory while in college and started designing footwear at age 20. In 1971, he joined the shoe company Caressa; 15 years later he established Stuart Weitzman after buying Caressa’s interest in a Spanish shoe factory. Stuart Weitzman footwear is sold in more than 75 countries and worn by numerous celebrities; Weitzman sold the company to Coach in 2015 but stayed on as shoe designer. In his free time, Weitzman aids a number of philanthropic causes and mentors students’ entrepreneurial aspirations at his alma mater, University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.
