Sam Kean is an author and speaker. He wrote the New York Times best-sellers The Tale of the Dueling Neurosurgeons, The Disappearing Spoon (a runner-up for the Royal Society of London’s 2010 book of the year), and The Violinist’s Thumb (a nominee for the 2013 PEN/Wilson Award for literary science writing). His first two books were also named Amazon top-five science books of the year. Kean’s work has appeared in The Atlantic Monthly, The New York Times Magazine, Psychology Today, Slate, and Mental Floss, and he has been featured on NPR’s “Radiolab,” “All Things Considered,” and “Fresh Air.” He has given over one hundred talks on his books.
