Founder, Future for Palestine; Former Prime Minister, Palestinian National Authority
Salam Fayyad is an economist, politician, and founder of the nonprofit Future for Palestine. He was prime minister of the Palestinian Authority from 2007 to 2012 and briefly the State of Palestine’s first prime minister (January to June 2013). Fayyad previously served as finance minister and was chair of the Palestinian Legislative Council’s Finance Committee. He was a regional manager of Arab Bank, IMF representative in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and taught economics. He is the recipient of the Path of Peace Award and has made the TIME 100 and Foreign Policy’s Top 100 Global Thinkers lists.
