Ron Prosor is Israel’s permanent representative to the UN, a position he has held since June 2011. He has over two decades of experience at Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including ambassador to the United Kingdom for four years and director general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2004 to 2007. Serving in Bonn, Prosor helped establish diplomatic relations behind the Iron Curtain following the fall of the Berlin Wall. As Israel’s minister-counselor for political affairs in Washington, DC, from 1998 and 2002, he was part of Israel’s delegation to the 1998 Wye River Summit talks. He served as a major in the Israeli Defense Forces.
