Robert McDuffie

Robert McDuffie is a Grammy-nominated violinist. He is the founder of the Robert McDuffie Center for Strings at Mercer University and the Rome Chamber Music Festival. While appearing as a soloist with the world’s foremost orchestras, he can also be found sharing the stage with a variety of artists, including the late Gregg Allman and Chuck Leavell in performing “Midnight Rider,” and alongside actress/playwright Anna Deavere Smith in her reading performance of Martin Luther King’s “Letter from Birmingham Jail.” Composer Philip Glass dedicated his Second Violin Concerto, The American Four Seasons, to McDuffie, and Mike Mills of R.E.M. composed a Concerto for Violin, Rock Band, and String Orchestra for him.
