Rob Carter is an adjunct professor of emergency medicine at University of Texas Health Science Center and has served 18 years as a US Army commissioned officer in a variety of clinical, medical research, command, and staff positions. He has published more than 100 papers in journals, book chapters, and conference proceedings related to human performance optimization, combat casualty care, and military operational medicine. His awards include the 9A Proficiency Designator, the highest level of professional achievement within the Army Medical Department by the Surgeon General. Carter serves on the Project Welcome Home Troops Advisory Board, is an American College of Sports Medicine fellow, and a Gates Millennium Scholar.
