
Renee DiResta
Head of Policy, Data for Democracy; Research Director, New Knowledge
Renee DiResta is policy head at Data for Democracy and research director at New Knowledge, investigating the spread of disinformation across social networks. She has advised Congress, the US State Department, and others about understanding and responding to computational propaganda operations. Previously, DiResta ran business development and marketing for technology platform Haven, was an investor at O’Reilly AlphaTech Ventures, and an emerging-markets derivatives trader at Jane Street Capital. A 2017 Presidential Leadership Scholar, in 2018 she received a Mozilla Foundation fellowship and affiliation with Harvard’s Berkman-Klein Center to pursue information integrity on social platforms. DiResta is a founding advisor to the Center for Humane Technology and author of The Hardware Startup.
