Rahm Emanuel is the 55th mayor of the city of Chicago. His accomplishments include implementing full-day kindergarten for every Chicago child and adding more than 200 hours to the school year. He fought for and won new accountability measures to ensure educators have the resources to succeed. He has attracted investment to Chicago, helped build the next generation of start-ups and invested in the infrastructure, public transportation, open space, and cultural attractions needed to keep Chicago a great place to live, work, and play. Emanuel served as White House chief of staff to President Barack Obama and then three terms in the US House of Representatives representing Illinois’ 5th district.
