Nicholas A. Christakis is director of the Human Nature Lab at Yale University, co-director of the Yale Institute for Network Science, and Sol Goldman Family Professor of Social and Natural Science at Yale. He researches social factors affecting health, health care, and longevity; his past work focused on end-of-life care. Christakis is co-author of Connected: The Surprising Power of Our Social Networks and How They Shape Our Lives. He was named to the TIME 100 list of the most influential people in the world in 2009 and Foreign Policy magazine’s Top 100 Global Thinkers in 2009 and 2010.
