Nan Sundeen is director of human services for Pitkin County, Colorado, where she pursues equitable access to health care for all. In this role for 28 years, she oversees senior, human, and veterans’ services and is responsible for Pitkin County’s dedicated property tax that generates over $3 million per year for health and human services nonprofit partners. Sundeen is currently spearheading a community collaboration to build a continuum of care to address housing stability. In 2017, she received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Colorado Association of Nonprofits for her work in regional health equity. In 2018, the Colorado Human Services Directors Association honored her with the Human Services Director of the Year Award.
