Chair, Latinos and Society Program, The Aspen Institute
Monica Lozano is chair of the Aspen Institute Latinos and Society Program, which is dedicated to increasing awareness of the role Hispanics will play in the United States’ long-term prosperity. From 2010 to January 2016, she was chairman and CEO of the parent company of La Opinión, a leading Spanish-language daily newspaper, where she led the transition of the business into a multimedia content provider. Lozano joined La Opinión in 1985 and became publisher and CEO in 2004. She is chair of the University of California Board of Regents and the Weingart Foundation and serves on the boards of the Rockefeller Foundation, Bank of America, and Target Corporation.
