Mika Järvinen is an associate professor in the Department of Energy Technology at Aalto University’s School of Engineering and a research fellow and associate professor at the Academy of Finland. He has been actively working with applications related to combustion, multi-phase flows, spraying and combustion of black liquor, metallurgical processes such as AOD steel-making process, and chemical heating in CAS-OB process. His latest research topics are related to pilot-scale mineral carbonation of CO2, pilot-scale CFB waste gasification, and super-critical water gasification of biomass. Järvinen previously worked in the Ahlstrom Machinery Corporation as a research engineer. He has many refereed journal publications on the above fields.
