Michèle Flournoy is a senior advisor at the Boston Consulting Group. From 2009 to 2012, she served as undersecretary of defense for policy, the principal advisor to the US secretary of defense in the formulation of national security and defense policy, oversight of military plans and operations, and in National Security Council deliberations. After the 2008 election, Flournoy co-led President Obama’s transition team at the Department of Defense. In 2007, Flournoy co-founded the Center for a New American Security, a nonpartisan think tank.
