Meryl Justin Chertoff is executive director of the Aspen Institute’s Justice and Society Program, an adjunct law professor at Georgetown University Law Center, and a member of the Sandra Day O’Connor Initiative on Judicial Selection at the Institute for the Advancement of the American Legal System. From 2006 to 2009, she directed the Sandra Day O’Connor Project on the State of the Judiciary at Georgetown Law. Chertoff also served in FEMA’s Office of Legislative Affairs, was a legislative relations professional, directed the State of New Jersey’s Washington, DC, office under two governors, was legislative counsel to the chair of the New Jersey State Assembly Appropriations Committee, and practiced law.
