Matty Gilliland is head of the process analysis team at New Belgium Brewing Company in Fort Collins, CO. In this position since 2008, he works to increase production efficiencies, optimize processes, reduce waste, and eliminate capacity constraints. Prior to his current position, he was New Belgium’s brewhouse operator from 2002 to 2008, and before that, he was a cellar operator, joining New Belgium in 1997. A Colorado craft brewer his entire career, Gilliland was previously the head brewer at Left Hand Brewing Company in Longmont, CO, from 1996 to 1997. He graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 1995.
