Mark A. R. Kleiman is a professor of public policy at New York University's Marrion Institute of Urban Management. He leads the Marron Institute's work on crime reduction and justice. He is a nationally recognized expert on crime and drug policy who advised Washington State on legalization of retail marijuana sales. He is co-editor of the Journal of Drug Policy Analysis and organizer of The Reality-Based Community, a group blog. Kleiman is chairman of BOETEC Analysis Corporation, a Massachusetts-based company that consults on drug policy. He is also member of the Committee on Law and Justice of the National Research Council.
