Marika Shioiri-Clark is principal of SOSHL Studio, a firm dedicated to creating social impact through design and, with the Nike Foundation, working to rethink safe spaces for adolescent girls in Nigeria and Ethiopia as well as on design projects throughout the global south. She recently led a project with IDEO.org and DKT International to create a culturally appropriate birth control brand campaign for teen girls in Kinshasa, DCR. A practitioner of human-centered design, Shioiri-Clark was in 2011 a global fellow at IDEO.org, working on projects in the education, health, and sanitation sectors in the United States and Ghana. She also works on neighborhood development and creative placemaking in Cleveland.
