Maria Toler Velissaris is founding partner of SteelSky Ventures, the leading venture capital fund focused on women’s health care and health equity. Investments include Origin, 23andMe, Zipline, Twentyeight Health, Lark Health, and Midi. Under her leadership, SteelSky has built an ecosystem of portfolio companies, strategic limited partners, and advisors across the health care landscape and championed innovation in previously overlooked and underserved markets. Velissaris speaks regularly on investing and entrepreneurship panels and judges pitch competitions globally. She was a 2022 USA Eisenhower Justice Fellow, recipient of the 2020 NYU Stern Alumni Changemaker award, Blazer winner in the Atlanta Inno Fire Awards, and was named to Business Insiders’ List of Rising Stars in Venture Capital. She serves on the Yale School of Medicine Center for Digital Health and Innovation Advisory Board and other boards.
