Chef and Owner, Red Rooster Harlem
Marcus Samuelsson is owner and chef of Harlem’s Red Rooster. Samuelsson was just 24 when The New York Times awarded Aquavit, where he was executive chef, three stars. The James Beard Foundation named him Best Chef, New York City and honored him with the Best International Cookbook for A Soul of a New Cuisine. In 2009, he hosted the first state dinner for President Barack Obama. As the 2010 winner of Bravo’s “Top Chef Masters,” Samuelsson raised over $100,000 toward UNICEF’s tap project.
