Executive Director, Pluribus Project
Lucas Welch is executive director of the Pluribus Project, an Aspen Institute initiative dedicated to cultivating the political power of the many. His primary focus is catalyzing targeted innovation to influence how political campaigns are run and won so that our elected officials are more incentivized to advance broad public interests. Previously, Welch founded Soliya, an international nonprofit that pioneered virtual exchange programs among over 100 universities in Western and Muslim-majority countries. Soliya played a central role in inspiring the recent establishment of the J. Christopher Stevens Virtual Exchange Initiative, a multilateral public-private endeavor increasing people-to-people educational exchanges between the United States and the Middle East.
