Former President, Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Planned Parenthood Action Fund
Leana Wen is the former president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America and the Planned Parenthood Action Fund. Previously, she was Baltimore city health commissioner, overseeing more than 1,000 employees, two clinics providing over 18,000 patients with reproductive health services, and mental health programs in 180 Baltimore schools. A board-certified emergency physician, Wen was also a consultant with the World Health Organization and George Washington University professor. She has published over 100 scientific articles and authored When Doctors Don’t Listen. In 2016, Wen received the American Public Health Association’s highest award for local public health work. In 2018, TIME named her one of the 50 most influential people in health care.
