Pro Basketball Player, Utah Jazz, NBA
Kyle Korver is a basketball player with the NBA’s Utah Jazz. An NBA All-Star, he has set numerous team and league records in his 16-year career. Korver documented his experience with white privilege in a personal essay in The Players’ Tribune in April 2019, garnering national recognition and initiating a conversation around systematic racism. His advocacy efforts are put into action through the Kyle Korver Foundation, his charitable organization that utilizes a grassroots approach to enact change. Through the foundation, he has held coat and sock drives, funded the building of wheelchair ramps, and supported nonprofits such as Helping Hands Rescue Mission and Abide. Korver received the 2015 NBA Sportsmanship Award.
When it comes to a training routine, basketball player Kyle Korver says he tries to find balance. “I think one of the biggest challenges is finding energy. Basketball takes a lot of energy and then I have to go home and be a dad.” Korver, who’s the father to three children under six years old, says finding time for wrestling, tickling, and playing ball is key. “So, I have game day naps and I gotta try and be in bed by a certain time. On the road is where I do my massages because it’s not taking away time from my family....You still gotta live,” he says.
