Chief Scientist, Narrative Science
Kristian Hammond is chief scientist at Narrative Science, where he works on technology that generates natural language narratives based on the meaning and insight found in structured data. He is a professor of computer science and journalism at Northwestern University, where he directs the Intelligent Information Lab and is a founding member of the Knight Lab for Technology Innovation in Journalism. Previously, Hammond founded the University of Chicago’s Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. Most recently, he has been part of the United Nations team working on shaping the policy landscape regarding the control and regulation of weaponization of autonomous devices.
