Principal of Cultural Assets Management, Bloomberg Associates; Head, Arts Program, Bloomberg Philanthropies
Kate D. Levin is a principal and heads the cultural assets management team of Bloomberg Associates, a philanthropic consulting firm working with mayors to improve quality of life for their citizens, whose clients include Atlanta, Houston, London and Newark. She also oversees the Bloomberg Philanthropies arts program, supporting a range of organizations and activities nationally and internationally, with current initiatives including management training, public art, and digital technology. Levin was commissioner of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs from 2002 to 2013. Previously, she was a professor of English at City College of City University of New York and served in former New York City mayor Ed Koch’s administration. Levin was the inaugural Fellow of SMU DataArts.
