
Karen Weigert is director of the Baumhart Center for Social Enterprise and Responsibility at Loyola University Chicago, where she also heads the Baumhart Scholars MBA program focused on social and environmental impact. Weigert is also the sustainability contributor for WBEZ Chicago’s daily talk show “Reset.” Previously, she was executive vice president of Slipstream, a nonprofit advancing equitable climate solutions, and senior fellow on sustainability, energy and climate in global cities at Chicago Council on Global Affairs. Prior to this, Weigert was the first chief sustainability officer for the city of Chicago from 2011 to 2016, dedicated to making the city more livable, competitive and sustainable through initiatives such as the Sustainable Chicago Action Agenda, Retrofit Chicago, and the Energy Benchmarking Ordinance.
