Karan Bhatia is head of global policy and government relations at Google, where he advises Google’s leadership on policy issues and leads its work with policymakers, government officials, and political stakeholders. Before joining Google in 2018, he was president of government affairs and policy at GE. Bhatia previously served in senior positions in the US government, including at the Departments of Commerce and Transportation, most recently as deputy US trade representative, overseeing international trade policy with respect to Asia and Africa. Bhatia is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on International Trade and Investment and board member of several nonprofit and trade associations focused on international economic policy.
