Program Associate, Just Detention International
Kamilah Willingham is an advocate and activist who works for Just Detention International, the only organization in the United States dedicated exclusively to ending sexual abuse in detention. Before joining JDI, she worked as an advocate and as a student attorney for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. She has also worked as a teaching fellow in Harvard University’s Department of Sociology and has conducted research on human rights, social justice, and gender equality. Willingham was recently featured in the documentary film The Hunting Ground, in which she spoke about her experience reporting her sexual assault to Harvard Law School.
