John Doerr

Chairman, Kleiner Perkins Caufield Byers; Trustee, The Aspen Institute

John Doerr is an engineer, venture capitalist, and chairman of Kleiner Perkins, where he’s worked for more than 37 years. Outside of Kleiner Perkins, he works with social entrepreneurs for change in public education, the climate crisis, and global poverty, serving on the boards of the Obama Center and ONE.org. Doerr was an original investor and board member at Google and Amazon. He founded Silicon Compilers, a VLSI CAD software company, and co-founded the broadband cable internet service @Home. His tech career began in 1974 at Intel, where he held various roles. In 2018, Doerr authored Measure What Matters; through this book and online platform, he shares stories and lessons from innovators.
