
John Doerr

John Doerr is an engineer, venture capitalist, and chairman of Kleiner Perkins, where he’s worked since 1980. Outside of Kleiner Perkins, he works with social entrepreneurs for change in public education, the climate crisis, and global poverty, serving on the boards of the Obama Center and ONE.org. Doerr was an original investor and board member at Google and Amazon. He founded Silicon Compilers, a VLSI CAD software company, and co-founded the broadband cable internet service @Home. His tech career began in 1974 at Intel, where he held various roles. Doerr is the author of Measure What Matters and Speed and Scale: An Action Plan for Solving Our Climate Crisis Now.
