Jeffrey Ball is an energy and environment writer, scholar in residence at Stanford University’s Steyer-Taylor Center for Energy Policy and Finance, and a lecturer at Stanford Law School. He came to Stanford in 2011 from The Wall Street Journal, where he was environment editor and wrote about energy and the environment as a reporter and columnist. Ball’s stories and essays have appeared in Fortune, The New Republic, Foreign Affairs, The Wall Street Journal, and Slate, among others. He contributes commentary about energy issues on WSJ.com as a member of The Experts, a Wall Street Journal panel. Ball won the 2015 Society of American Business Editors and Writers’ top energy-writing prize.
