Senior Vice President, Community and Family Engagement, Sesame Workshop
Jeanette Betancourt is senior vice president for community and family engagementat Sesame Workshop, where she is responsible for initiatives that reach vulnerable children and families along with their caregivers, service providers, and educators. She is a licensed bilingual speech and language pathologist and educational therapist. Prior to joining Sesame Workshop in 1993, Betancourt directed programs in the areas of Latinos entering the early childhood field, school restructuring, and special education at the Institute for Urban and Minority Education at Columbia University’s Teachers College. She has served on several national boards impacting at-risk children and families and is board chair for Our World Neighborhood Charter School, which she helped establish.
